Sunday

11:00 am to 12pm

Predrafting

You got a writer inside of you! But where to start? How can you become the next J.K. Rowling? How can you write a fun-filled anime or manga? Help! Never fear, I have been researching plenty of different styles and techniques to make this difficult journey a tad easier. Also, I will supply the recommended and suggested reading to help you further into this grand adventure.

Presentation: I will be explaining the methods that I use. For example, I will use Harry Potter. I will summarize this novel into one sentence, character descriptions, secondary characters, themes, plots, and interesting facts. I will add Sailor Moon (the anime) as another example and the same style. Then, I would begin on a personal journey (as a writer myself) discussing taking time to develop the protagonist, antagonist, important secondary characters, maps, settings, and possible starting outlines. Also, I enjoy creating my characters by making various pictures and blend into my character. I would end with mentionings of never throwing any idea away and keeping paper around every corner.  Click here for e event page.

2:00 pm to 3 pm

Procrastination

Easy to do... Probably still doing this... Maybe another day, another month, or...never. No, take a moment to realize that the story inside you cannot be told by no one but you. Your storytelling method needs to be seen and heard. Let me show you that, yes, even I procrastinate. But, these methods can help you move on from the great fear of never into possibility. A possible story that could be great.

Presentation: I would act like I'm procrastinating then move right into the discussion. I will explain that fear is the huge reason why procrastination happens. If denial, I will explain the types: avoidance, looking for easier tasks, anxious, pleasure seeker, or fearful... Yes, there are plenty of books. Shakespeare told the best stories and already a million different retellings have been done. Don't let that stop you. Sure, I can tell you tons of different Romeo and Juliet stories, but Romeo x Juliet is vastly different than the original telling. Then, I would go into the methods that I use to stop procrastinating: free write (journal or jumble of words), outline (take time to truly draft the story), draft character lists (descriptions, birthday, name, interesting information, looks), research writing (read, read, read), and design character (truly make a character). I also enjoy designing a character by Doll maker online, collect various photos or ask a fellow artist for a commission. I would like to end with my personal add of Quotes Collector Book. I use these quotes to inspire myself and will read some quotes from this.
